Our galleries and many of our local businesses will be open along with the wonderful restaurants and entertainment venues that make Weaverville such a special place.

• Stormy Weather will be playing at the Weaverville Emporium and looking forward to dusting off the cobwebs of winter and play some fine tunes.

ART GALLERIES

• Main Street Gallery's popular Love and Chocolate fundraising event is here again! Join us for the Art Walk on February 5th from 5 to 8 pm. Indulge yourself, donate $5.00 to the gallery and receive a gift bag full of delectable chocolate treats, all tied up with a red ribbon. The gallery will also be full of all new art, a treat for your senses including "Member Invitational and People’s Choice Award" of $100.00 in the Moon Lee Gallery and a new Member Show in the Trinity Gallery.

• Highland Art Center - The month of February will feature the annual Scholarship Auction Exhibit at the Highland Art Center. Quality artworks in many mediums will be available to bid on and all proceeds will be given to a local art student in pursuit of higher art education. During the First Saturday Art Walk and due to popular demand, fondue will be served and other goodies including homemade Valentine’s cookies.

• EarthDance Studios and Gallery is thrilled to present Karel Hendee as our featured artist for February/March, with her Winter into Spring collection. Come and meet Karel at the Art Walk. We will be joined by fiber artists Herzie Ashlakhani, Chris Williams-Benoit, Barbara Jud and Cindy Andrews. Herzie is a master knitter, working with small gauge yarn in the European style. Her scarves, gloves, and afghans are exquisite. Chris creates wearable fabric art for animals, poop bag pouches, leashes and harnesses and toys for cats! Barbara’s fabric art includes cute and practical coin purses and bright and beautiful mug rugs. Cindy has been a quilter for many years and does her own long arm quilting on her pieced table runners, mats and coasters.

• Trinity County Visitor & Information Center is celebrating the Chinese New Year(Year of the Tiger). The Center will be featuring pictures of the Weaverville Joss House and Horoscope posters. Featured is Brendan Chisholm's rendition of the Weaverville Joss House alongside Barbara Edwards' painting. Get your fortune cookie and find out what the Year of the Water Tiger has in store for you.

• Mountain Goat Kids - showcasing clothing and more for children. Look for artwork from local “kids”.
